October 2025
October 2nd | 6:30 p.m.
PROGRAM: USA 250, The Chronicle of America
SPEAKER: Larry Caver, President - Old Autauga Historical Society
Larry Caver will be visiting with us from the Old Autauga Historical Society (OAHS) in Prattville to discuss their efforts regarding the 250th birthday of America.
The Chronicle of America venue is sponsored by OAHS and includes 250 trifold displays depicting 250 years (1776-2026) of United States History. It will be open in April 2026.
They have gone to great lengths to include Alabama-related subjects and individuals as well. The venue covers the founding history of our country but also includes highlights from military, arts, science, music, drama, clothing, food, farming, technology, etc., from each decade from our nation’s founding forward to the present time.
Larry will bring a few samples of the displays that are included in the venue so our group can get a feel for the scope of the event.
We will want to invite other groups to the meeting, looking for America 250 ideas.
We also offer the ability to attend our evening meeting by Zoom, with the exception of December due to there being a Christmas Party and no actual business meeting or program held and there are no meetings in January or July due to the holidays. The Zoom details are posted on the day of the meeting in our Public Facebook Group.
